Sorry it has been a while since I posted any cards. I have been working on a Valentine swap card that needs to be in the mail the first week of January. I am just about done with it so I took a break to make this card.
I started with this American Crafts ribbon. I loved the colors so that is where I got the colors. And the layout is from Sketch Challenge 91 on SCS. I love this sketch and had it in my file of things to do.
My lighting is bad since it is an overcast day so some of the details are hard to make out. The rose panel has the flower outline stamped on it in rose. And the white panel had Cool Caribbean splattered over it. I ended up adding the faux stitching to the corners because it still needed something extra KWIM?
Stamps: Petal Prints & Much Appreciated Inks: Rose Red, Cool Caribbean, Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie Card Stock: Whisper White, Rose Red, Cool Caribbean, Chocolate Chip and Pumpkin Pie Accessories: American Crafts ribbon, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Singo white gel pen, paper piercer, mat pack, Aqua Painter

Today is a GREAT Day
Oh My Goodness! Today is a great day, aside from the green marker incedent with my dear children. First the Cuttlebug and now I go check the mail and there wasn't a Stampin' Up Christmas gift, but something better! A package from my Secret Sister on Splitcoaststampers.
Can you believe all the loot she sent me? She just continues to amaze me with her generosity! She is awesome. I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything! Now I need to go trim and mount my stamp set so I can put it to good use!
DDSS, if you are reading this.... Thank you, so very much. I cannot say it enough!
Look What I'm Getting!!!!
I am so excited. My DH came home last night and said, " Buy that die cutting machine you have been talking about." I could not believe it! So I got online this morning and filled my shopping cart with my little Cuttlebug from Provo Craft and various embossing folders and a die or two. Had to get my order up high enough to qualify for free shipping, ya know. Now I begin the hard job of WAITING!!! Hmmm.... Maybe I should go stamp to pass the time.

Another CC92
OK, I cannot control myself. I love this color combo! Again, I tried to use sets I never use anymore. I used my Aqua Painter to color in the flowers. What sets tend to sit on your shelf gathering dust?
Stamp Sets: Fresh Flowers & Lexicon of Love Inks: Real Red & Cool Caribbean Card Stock: Real Red, Whisper White & Cool Caribbean Accessories: Real Red Marker, Ticket Corner Punch, Aqua Painter & Red Grosgrain
Color Combination 92
This is a card from the Color Combination Challenge on SCS . I love this combo. I cased this card from a card done by Marika. I have had it in my favorites for a while and these colors looked like they would work well. I also got to use my new ticket corner punch. I think it adds a lot to the layout.
This is an old set that I hardly ever use. I like to try and revive my old ones every now and then.
Stamp Set: Nice and Easy Notes & Sweet Shapes Inks: Cool Caribbean, Basic Black & Real Red Card stock: Cool Caribbean, Whisper White & Real Red Accessories: Red Gingham Ribbon, Ticket Corner Punch, Real Red & basic Black Markers, Red Eyelets & Blender Pen.
My First Tin
I finally used one of the many tins that I have been hording. I am planning on doing a class using these in January so I figured I better try it out. I am not completely satisfied with my results but there is always next time. I made this for a Christmas gift exchange that I went to. The lady who ended up with it was not too impressed so I am glad it was not one of my creations that I just love and are hard to part with. I hate giving up beloved creations to people who don't get it.
I did not stamp on this one at all. I used paper that I got from Target Dollar Spot around Valentines Day. I painted the top with white acrylic paint mixed with Regal Rose reinker. Once it dried it looked sort of bland so I covered the paint with Versamark ink and Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. Once heated it became super sparkly. It is hard to see in the picture but trust me. I really love the top but once I was finished with it, it was too late to change the body of the tin. We were down to two hours before we had to leave and all 5 of us still needed to get ready. So I was forced to accept it as is. But there is always next time .... I mean it was my first try...

WAXYO Inspired
I am constantly inspired by WAXYO. It seems like half of her gallery on SCS is in my favorites.
I fell in love with her Papercraft inspired card.
This is what I came up with. I love the results. it took a little time to get all the berries colored and I had to use glue dots on the tabs that are holding the hemp twine.
Stamps: Background Basics & Sincere Salutations, Inks: Close to Cocoa & Always Artichoke, Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Ruby Red, Always Artichoke and Mellow Moss, Accessories: Red Hemp Twine, Word Window Punch, sponge & Ruby Red Marker.
I also added a little detail on the inside. I love the extra little touch that it added.
Another Christmas Card
I actually did this card a few months ago, but the scan looked awful so I waited until we got our new camera and then snapped a shot that does the card a little more justice.
This card was inspired by Bea-creative's card on SCS . All my ladies loved making it but the coloring took a little while since we did 5 of them each. The snow is made with cotton balls. I put snail adhesive randomly on the hill and then dabbed the snowball all over .
Snowman Fun wheel, Itty bitty backgrounds & All Year Cheer, Black cartridge, Markers: Ruby Red, Old Olive & Creamy Carmel Cardstock: Whisper White, Ruby Red & Old Olive
