My First Tin

I finally used one of the many tins that I have been hording. I am planning on doing a class using these in January so I figured I better try it out. I am not completely satisfied with my results but there is always next time. I made this for a Christmas gift exchange that I went to. The lady who ended up with it was not too impressed so I am glad it was not one of my creations that I just love and are hard to part with. I hate giving up beloved creations to people who don't get it.

I did not stamp on this one at all. I used paper that I got from Target Dollar Spot around Valentines Day. I painted the top with white acrylic paint mixed with Regal Rose reinker. Once it dried it looked sort of bland so I covered the paint with Versamark ink and Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder. Once heated it became super sparkly. It is hard to see in the picture but trust me. I really love the top but once I was finished with it, it was too late to change the body of the tin. We were down to two hours before we had to leave and all 5 of us still needed to get ready. So I was forced to accept it as is. But there is always next time .... I mean it was my first try...

Julie,

I think this is awesome for your first try! I've been putting off buying a lunchbox to try because I'm afraid I'll ruin in it and have to throw it away, but you make it sound so easy! Thanks for the inspiration!

This is a gorgeous tin! I love the idea of smooshing VM over the top and embossing... very cool!
