Dare to Be Darling

There is a lot of talk over at SCS about everyone disliking this set. I however, love this set. It was on my short list. I just think it is so much fun.
This first card is a case of this card done by Kristina Werner (starofmay on SCS). I love so many of her creations. If you have not already done so you MUST check out her blog and SCS gallery.

The colors of this card are drawn from the coordinating paper, Darling Doodles. It is hard to see in this photo but I also used the Polka Dot background stamp.

Sets: Polka Dot and Dare to Be Darling
Inks: Wild Wasabi, Rose Red, Groovy Guava, Brocade Blue and VersaMark
Papers: Darling Doodles Paper, Whisper White, Rose Red and Brocade Blue Card Stock
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, dimensionals and Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Grosgrain

This second card uses all the same things minus the Darling Doodles paper. I created this one for a swap I am participating in. Hope they like it. I am really loving this double stitched grosgrain. Too cute.

Sets: Polka Dot and Dare to Be Darling
Inks: Wild Wasabi, Rose Red, Groovy Guava, Brocade Blue and VersaMark
Papers: Whisper White, Rose Red and Brocade Blue Card Stock
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, dimensionals and Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Grosgrain and Circle Punches.

And if you read all this you deserve some blog goodies. So comment on this post and let me know what you favorite set and accessory is out of the new SU! catalog. I will randomly pick a winner on Friday, Aug. 10th and send the winner a surprise package.

I think you're right - this stamp set is really cute! Well...I have so many favorites from the new catalog, but I guess the one I like the most is Garden Whimsey. (Of course if you ask me next week, it will probably be something different!)

Ooops! Excuse this extra comment... I forgot to tell you what accessory I liked from the new catalog - I'd like to see what the Build a Brad looks like. Might be fun!

Great job Julie and it was so great to see you this weekend!!! So, I may have outbid you on the storage unit and when I went to put it on my stamp desk last night after I put my ink pads in I realized it's too tall so now it sits on my work desk. Guess I should have taken some measurements first ;-)

I would have to say Winds of Grace - I am a little disappointed with SU catty this year - seems a lot of stuff is a little childish - and I don't have small children. And - I really wish they would go unmounted.

I really like the jumbo outline alphabet. I have seen a lot of cute work done with it and really want to buy it. :)
I like the new hat pins. I can't wait to try them out!
BTW, I totally agree with Di. I wish SU would offer unmounted sets too. :( I would buy so many more stamps.

dyHi Julie - cute cards! I like that stamp set. My fave out of the new catty is Fabulous Flowers, and my fave new accessory (does paper count?) is the new textured cardstock. Thanks for sharing your great ideas! Have a great day -

Beth (mommy to an almost-4 yr old)

Hi!
I also read the comments on Splitcoast, but ordered the set and the paper. I LOVE your samples!! In fact I may case one for a swap I need to do soon. I just put in my second order and had to have Garden Whimsey...didn't even look twice at it first time around, then I saw the beautiful samples!!
Although I LOVE ribbon, the cropadile is to die for! I'm actually using eyelets again!
Thanks for a chance at some goodies, and thanks even more for the awesome samples!!

Awesome blog, I have to put you on my list! I'm with you, I love this set and paper...it was on my first catalog order! I'm not sure I can pick a "favorite" new set, but I think I have used this one the most, so maybe that counts?! Favorite new accessory has to be all the wonderful new ribbons!
